Antique Russian Ormolu malachite Inkwell. The inkwell measures 9 5/8" wide by 6" deep and is 5" tall. There are four malachite panels on the base and a malachite medallion top on the ink pot. The malachite is in good condition with only one back panel having suffered a break at the edge with some minor loss. Please refer to photos. The bronze inkwell is beautifully hand engraved and chased. The ink pot is complete with its original glass liner. The pot is on a swivel with a front to back rotation.The bronze frame is heavy cast and hand detailed with a gold gilt finish (ormlou). We date the inkstand circa 1860 legal antique.
