The robes of a monk or nun (Sangha) are one of the most holy belongings of an ordained person. It represents their dedication to the spiritual path and their love for the welfare of mother sentient beings.

The tradition of wearing robes was passed down from the founder of Buddhism, Shakyamuni Buddha. Wearing the robes represents the vows that an ordained person holds, and reflects their commitment to bring happiness and comfort, and to relieve the sufferings of sentient beings.

Thus, every day a monk or nun continues to don their robes and hold their vows is another day they create immeasurable merits for themselves and their sponsors. Through their virtue, they also become a source of inspiration for others who are seeking spiritual solace.
